Dr. Jonathan De Giovanni

Jonathan De Giovanni holds the position of Managing Director and CEO at Promethean in charge of regulatory management, strategy, and business development. Dr. De Giovanni has advised corporations on international tax and financial services legislation and HNWIs utilizing Malta for wealth preservation, citizenship and residence planning for the past 13 years. He lectured the Advanced Taxation Module to students reading for the ACCA qualification and currently lectures Asset Finance at the University of Malta.
He is a past member of the Tax and Unregulated Business Sub Committee of the Malta Institute of Financial Services Practitioners (IFSP), a member of the International Fiscal Association and a Fellow Member of the Investment Migration Council. He also served as a council member of the Malta Institute of Taxation between 2012 and 2016. Dr. De Giovanni is approved by the Malta Financial Services Authority to hold the positions of Director, Compliance officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer, for entities licensed by the MFSA including funds and other regulated entities.
Dr. Jonathan De Giovanni graduated as Doctor of Laws in 2009, defending a thesis in relation to double taxation treaty abuse and was admitted to the Bar in 2010. He contemporaneously read for a Master of Arts in Financial Services at the University of Malta, completing his master’s degree in 2011 and graduating magna cum laude, after submitting a thesis regarding the international taxation of investment funds. He also holds an Advanced Diploma in International Taxation conferred by the Chartered Institute of Taxation in London, after submitting a thesis on CFC Legislation.
